4 Simple Tricks to Index Your Site Quickly

Making a website is not enough to enjoy success on the web. You have to make your website reach people instead of waiting for people to find it among the millions being added to it daily. The most popular way through which people find a website is by googling it or searching through any other popular search engine.

In order to have a website land on the search engine page, people either pay huge sums of money or they could be smart and try indexing it for free. Indexing a website involves technicality. There are numerous ways of doing that. But for new webmasters, if you want to have a try at immediate success then you can try the free and quicker ways of doing that.

In this article, I am going to include 4 quick and easy ways to index your website. As stated above these are not the only quick ways to index a site, but they sure are good and they work.

1.      An easy trick is to email the URL to a friend. Better yet you can include the URL to your website in your email. Whenever you send a mail, the URL is sent with it. This is by far the easiest and quickest way of indexing your website. (with Gmail of course…)

2.      Similarly you can also try to add the link to your website in a famous blog which is updated every few seconds. Search engines like Google scan these blogs every few seconds. It is also a good idea to have these blogs write a short article as a marketing tool for your website.

3.      Another thing you could try is submitting your link to the social bookmarking sites. If your website has quality stuff then it is sure to be picked by the search engines to be indexed. Google for one, scans these sites every few minutes. A few of such powerful and popular sites are DIGG, Twitter and Delicious & Reddit.

4.      You can make a site map of your website. Site maps include all the URLs on your webpage.  There are many websites which can create this XML format for free. Google itself has one such site. You can submit this document to the search engines and the good thing is that you can keep on updating it as much as you want.

Great tips and a great blog Master Dodwan. Another great way to get indexed is through RSS feeds. Not only putting the actual website feed in but also sharing your bookmark on bookmarking sites then submit your RSS from those bookmarking accounts as well. One big one that provides instant RSS for your bookmarks is Delicious there are tons more though and the ones who don’t provide it you can use a free tool to make your own feed.

Does tip #1 really work? I mean, does Google crawl the links contained in an e-mail? I don’t know if I believe that…

As for me, I just start a blog over at Blogger which Google owns and spam it with my links. Works great… :)

The problem with #2 is that many famous (and not so famous) blogs use the rel=nofollow attribute on any links contained in the comment section. If you Google around, you’ll probably find a list of blogs that do offer follow links, but it’s generally frowned upon by major search engines as spammy practice.

Another great tool is Aaron Wall’s Firefox plugin over at SEObook.com that helps identify follow vs. nofollow links.
